The first preseason game of the 103rd NFL season begins Thursday with the Hall of Fame game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The game will give most of the players competing for roster spots a chance to shine, as many stars on both sides are expected to sit out.
The Jaguars have already ruled out linebacker Trevor Lawrence and linebacker Travis Etienne, who is recovering from a Lisfranc injury and missed the entire 2021 draft season. Jake Luton will start as backup quarterback CJ Beathard is nursing a groin injury.
