Crossplay for King of Fighters 15, Return of Samurai Shodown and extra introduced by SNK Evo

SNK shared some exciting announcements regarding King of Fighters 15 and Samurai Shodown during their Evo panel today.

For King of Fighters, this includes both short-term and long-term DLC information, such as the release date of the recently revealed Team Awakened Orochi characters, and for SamSho, the network code.

The developers took to the stage to offer some details and footage of how Team Awakened’s three upcoming Orochi fighters, the alternate versions of Shermie, Yashiro, and Chris, will play. They also offered a release date for the upcoming team: August 8th.

The team also noted that they are working on a cross-platform game for KOF15, but it won’t be ready for release until 2023. Currently, Sony console users can play with each other, but not with Microsoft users. But that should change in the coming months.

Evo’s biggest reveals tend to happen on finals day, and SNK shared that they haven’t shown everything yet this weekend. While we’re certainly excited to get Team Awakened Orochi just three days away, we’ll soon have another new team to look forward to with yet another announcement this Sunday.

Finally, another DLC season for King of Fighters 15 has been confirmed, with additional details also expected to be released on Sunday.

Samurai Shodown, which was released in 2019, unlocks the network code for online play on almost all platforms. The developers expect this update in 2023. in the spring and will be available on all platforms except the Nintendo Switch (due to technical limitations, according to the developers).

You can view the panel via Twitch archive video here. It starts at 4:40:10 and lasts just over 30 minutes.
