Actress Anne Heche crashed her automobile right into a Mar Vista dwelling, inflicting a significant fireplace

The driver who crashed into a Mar Vista home and started a fire has been identified as actress Anne Heche.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Walgrove Avenue just before 11 a.m.

The car, a 2020 Mini Copper, drove through the house and started a huge fire. Firefighters put out the flames within an hour and eventually pulled the car from the house.

LAFD says Heche was rescued and taken to the hospital in critical condition. SkyFOX footage appears to show Heche trying to climb out of the suspended beam.

Dashcam footage shows a blue Mini Copper speeding down a residential street before the crash. It is not known if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the vehicle stopped at 1952. in a built 738-square-foot, two-story home that resulted in structural compromise and a severe fire. Witnesses say that the neighbor ran to the house and safely led the owner of the house and her pets away. He tried to get Heche out of the car, but was unable to because of the heavy smoke.

No other injuries were reported. The causes of the accident are being investigated.

Heche is an Emmy-nominated actress. Her most recent film was 13 Minutes. She also starred in the films Six Days Seven Nights and Volcano. She also dated talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
